# Research in the catalogue

Nine entry points, each grounded in a work, an image or a document.

Research for the exhibition began with questions raised by contemporary art and worked back through history. The notes below follow inscriptions, materials, printed images and artists’ encounters to examine the artistic networks connecting China, Southeast Asia and the wider world.
